Ever since I was a young girl my parents, especially my dad has en-grained in me what good music is. I truly was born in the wrong era because as a kid I never ever was able to understand or relate to music that was “trendy” or popular at the time. I was the kid who watch THE WHO’s TOMMY, The Yellow Submarine and The Labyrinth at such a young age. Movies that perhaps not many my age understood or bothered to even watch.

Today is the anniversary of John Lennon’s death. He died in 1980, before I ever was born, before my parents even met - before mom even was in high school, and yet his music speaks volumes to me. To this day I can’t listen to Imagine, Julia or Beautiful Boy without feeling some sort of sinking emotion in my chest.

I thank my dad for passing down his taste in music to us.

I totally didn’t update last month - I suck ;o;!!! The fall was so busy with Oni-con, Thanksgiving holidays and now work has picked up. The last 3 days have been draining on me!!!

Since I didn’t talk about Halloween here is a quick review. Went to Oni-con and saw born and Satsuki live. Both were really good, especially born. The band were really aggressive and stage dived. We got to sit down and interview both Satsuki and born one on one. Probably one of my most nerve wrecking moments. I was scared. But both parties were fun and totally different. Speaking of Shattered-Tranquility…Addy and I did a full redesign on the site. I think it has a more professional look - I really love it haha.

Thanksgiving came and went. Even though I don’t eat turkey I usually like Thanksgiving because we have really nice dinner for the holiday.

What else? OH it snowed yesterday! It rarely ever snows in my area so it was cool but I don’t really own a nice coat so I was cold ><;;

Anyone doing anything cool for Xmas?

Sorry for another long ramble….*insert dramatic music*

Weird, I’ve taken my dad to the ER, visited friends at the hospital but never really had to go myself. Saturday morning I had to go. Something I’ve been avoiding got worst and when I went home to see parents I kinda bought it up to mom and she freaked out. It seemed like a normal bruise but ended up being an infected spider bite!! The ER is really a creepy place especially early in the dark morning and waiting took forever. Spent too much time there - too much money (which had to pay up front - lame) and I slept all day which annoys me too.

Twitter talk - adding some of my favorite people on twitter has made me either love them or dislike them for one reason or another. One person that I added and just made me love him even more is Eddie Izzard. From his marathon, to just asking what the weather is like - he is just witty and lovely. Another person who has cute but short tweets is Sean Lennon, his mom Yoko Ono also is obsessed with twitter and her tweets (even though some are repetitive) are very inspirational and kinda make me feel a bit more positive. OH of course Mika, you must add him. He is just a bouncy ball of cute and uniqueness.

Now to talk about whose twitter I don’t like or I unadded etc… I love love love Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls, I love her style, music and voice but for some reason I couldn’t stand her twitter which makes me sad. I dunno why - I think it started with her rants about musicians not making enough money yada yada. Sorry love, lots of artists are poor - including myself lol - still love her music though!

Speaking of tweets - Josh Groban posted this a few months ago and its amazing.

Randomly the my excoworker from the last post got me this hat when she went to Disney Land a few weeks ago. I always ask people who go to Disney World/Land to bring me a hat back and no one does. But she did ;o; I know my last post had a lot of anger but I am going to miss her.

I love this Polaroid Maker thingy. And I love this season, weather gets colder, halloween movies start to air, costumes, candy and cheesy monster mash music at the grocery store. Love it. Last night I stayed up so late watching scary movie after scary movie! One that I never watched and really liked was The Amityville Horror (remake version). One remake I actually liked more than the original. I love having FEARnet on demand XD. Hard to imagine that I have had this blog a little more than a year. Its definitely time for a new layout on here.

Speaking of layouts, Kii and I made a new lj community for layout challenges. Our first challenge is a Halloween Challenge.So join if you like making layouts!

This is one of my favorite candies at the moment. Rainbow Twizzlers! I love twizzlers to begin with but these rainbow ones are extra cool…well the are cooler to look at than actually eating but colors always grab my attention. So being the bid nerds that we are - we got The Beatles - Rockband the day it came out. Seriously hands down one of the most beautiful games ever. I just can’t believe how pretty it is.

I slept most of the day away - I’ve been getting sick as of late which is weird because I really don’t get sick that often. Thursday I was late for work because I didn’t go bed until 6am! Why? Because I got food poisoning from some bad pasta I had the night before and spent the whole night by the toilet vomiting. So I went to work late and threw up there and was sent home, I slept all day. I have never ever called in sick or missed work because of being sick. I just feel weird missing work.

Speaking of work, its mmmmm weird. They demoted a coworker this Friday, and even though she annoys me on a daily basis I feel bad. She is a 30yr old woman who is being demoted to 10 bucks an hour! I had a one on one with my boss on Friday that made me feel better about my position at the company.

Friday was my friend’s birthday and since its been almost a year since I have seen her I decided to go to her party. There was this guy at the party who was super nice and we hit it off well until he took too many shots, vomited outside and fell asleep on my friend’s sofa. -____-; the worst part was even though he had no ring, he was actually married with 3 kids! I was so grossed out, why was he so friendly? I didn’t get home until 4am - but I didn’t drink that much because she had food and I don’t usually drink during actual dinner unless its wine.

The 7 Deadly Sins Layout Challenge is over and we didn’t get many people making and posting layouts. I was so hopeful since we had alot of submissions for LUST and then everyone kinda died and stopped posting. But I was so grateful that Kii and Shintomo finished the challenge with me!!! <33333

OH yeah my favorite book store called BOOK STOP closed done last week. For about a week I would skip lunch and go to the store and kinda soak in memories I had at that place. I got pretty emotional the day of closing when I went in and bought a few books - lots of items were 50% so I ended up paying like 8 bucks for 3 books. I went back to work and no one really understood why I would be sad about a book store closing. Guys, its not just any book store its was the most amazing book store. The building was actually a movie theater from the 1930s and sometime in the 1980s it was transformed into a book store. It has about 5 floors of random stairs and nooks. I have shot video of when Kat and I hung out. These pics were taken on the store’s last day.

My posts are getting more and more pointless lol sorry about that!

I’ve been sick ;o; all freaking week, actually going on week 2 of sickness ><; I’m still coughing like crazy - and I have boogers *picks nose* .-. did I share too much ? Since tv sucks during the summer I have been watching shows online. Weeds, Nurse Jackie, True Blood, and thanks to Emily, I’m starting to watch Mad Men! Vintage marketing is so amazing! I really look forward to see who their client is, how the address the marketing problem and who Don fucks LOL Their opening scene/theme song is amazing! Reminds me of Bass’ poster art for Vertigo! Really sexy and slick!

I’m kind of a horror film buff and I have been itching to see Halloween II - anyone seen it yet? :o Halloween is coming up but this year we will be at Oni-con for Halloween. So worth it if we get to see born live so thats going to be fun!

August 6th was the anniversary of the death of Klaus Nomi. Another brilliant man who died too young. Why is it all the people I admire die so young! He actually had a very sad death - he was one of the first celebrities who died of AIDS at a time where no one knew what AIDS were. They called it the gay cancer and his friends thought they would get the illness if they were near him so he died alone in a cold hospital. He was a pastry chef, and a trained opera singer who was told to not sing so high but he said fuck it and created his own persona and style of new wave music. He even worked with David Bowie! By the way I love Bowie’s jawline when he sings - its so weird!

There is even a movie about his life, its in 11 short parts on youtube but worth it. Kinda makes you dislike his friends though. You can watch it here.

OKAY for something less sad! I got 2 free tickets to see The Collector before it came out at the cinema, actually a few months back I won 2 free tickets to Away We Go and now Houston Press sends me free tickets to movies every now and then. Not sure why. ANYWAY…I took my shiny Emily! It was actually a stupid movie - no plot no story. Just random gore with weird cgi spiders which made me and Emily laugh. There were some really gross parts that would make me giggle but as I scanned the theatre to see reactions I noticed people were cringing so this made me wonder if I a huge weirdo. All in all pretty bad and fucked up movie so don’t believe the reviews about the bad guy being the next Micheal Meyers -______-; Its late and I hate that I have to be at work early tomorrow!

P.S. my blog is officially a year old~!! After the 7 DEADLY SINS Challenge I should make a new lay eh?

So for my birthday, mom got me tickets to Phantom of the Opera! It was a great production, Phantom was a bit whiny and cried alot but it was really a beautiful and powerful production. I was a ninja and secretly took a few set pics before and during intermission. The overture was really magical!! I’ve been in such a musical mood as of late. CHESS and Phantom have been playing on my ipod nonstop.

My birthday was nice and simple - went to work, coworker bought me lunch, they ordered a cake for me and then we went out for drinks. We actually went to a couple of bars…I think I like lounges/bars much more than clubs. I basically had 3 different bday cakes/desserts. Its weird having your 24th birthday especially during the work week.

I finally got my graphics site with a new layout AND started a new layout challenge! Its going to be hard…7 Deadly Sins. We already had our LUST lays posted yesterday and WRATH/ANGER layout is due this coming Friday - Aug. 21st!

My birthday is drawing near and believe me, I am starting to get those old people pains already! Last Thursday my left hand felt sore and thus I fucked around all day at work, I just couldn’t focus off of the discomfort. By the time I got home I was packing my stuff to go to parents’ for 4th of July holiday. As I picked up my bag with my sore hand I noticed that my fingers couldn’t close tightly….I dropped my bag in pain. I had no grip? WTF I panicked. As Hideko knows, my hands sometimes grow tired or becomes sore - so much I sometimes bang them on the table but the pain lasts maybe 15 minutes or so. I can also run my hands under hot water to ease any soreness. I KNOW I need to see a doctor but seriously we were raised to “just drink some sprite, grab an egg and lay down” *insert mexican voodoo chanting prayer* That night was hell but by the next morning I was ok, just some soreness. Kim was mean to me all weekend. Which reminds me - I owe her an ass kicking! Anyway, I’m fine and I WILL be visiting a doctor very soon!

Even though my birthday isn’t until Tuesday (the 14th),  I received gifts from parents and sisters! Mom got Phantom tickets for this coming Friday, Dad gave me money, Kim and Kat made me this (the plushie in the middle):

His name is Stein! Kim made what she calls Ugly Ipod Monsters,  he is cute right? All I did was send her a drawing of him and she did the rest! He is so cuddly and cute - his head unzips and my ipod fits right in! I love him, thanks stinkers for making him! <33333333333
