So PBS aired the concert of CHESS that was filmed last year. Did you know I own the original London vinyl recording but never have played it. I have only listened to orchestrations of the musical, but I bought it solely because Tim Rice was involved. Anyway, PBS premiered the concert on the 17th. I watched it for Adam Pascal and Idina Menzel, RENT heads can understand why. But they aren’t the only leads, Josh Groban also was a lead. To tell you the truth I have never heard of his voice or his music. I have an aunt who adores him but he always seemed boring in my opinion. Oh how I was wrong. He was really powerful in CHESS! I loved loved his voice and I had no idea he could act! Actually I never thought anything about him so his performance was a total shock. Adam was great but rough in some parts but still great! Idina - no contest she was the best performer.

The music is very Rice! If you like Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat then you’ll like the style of this music. Dramatic, beautiful, and overly 80’s pop sounding lol. One thing I always liked about Webber/Rice musicals is that they make these promo music videos.
CATS, Phantom, Evita have them and so does CHESS! Murray Head raps in the hit song from CHESS - One Night in Bangkok.

And the creators of CHESS were both in the pop group ABBA so it has that kind of fun feel to it. BTW this is Björn Nils Olof Skifs, who used to be vocals for the pop group Blue Swede.

Its so 80’s but I can’t help loving the songs! Gah how long have I had this album and never listened to it. Actually I have alot of vinyl but never listen to them because I don’t want to damage them, some are quite old!

I STILL HAVEN’T SEEN UP OR STAR TREK! wtf is wrong with me! Summer movies are starting to pile up. What have you guys seen? Whats good or what should I avoid? Tell me!

I’ve been wanting to watch this movie since I was younger and finally - I got to watch The City of Lost Children. The only true reason why I wanted to watch it was because of the cover art. You see, I’ll watch anything with a good or unique cover. But really the movie was just plain weird and hard to follow. Not sure if it was because the movie is French or if the story was too random but it was at least pretty and interesting. And Ron Pearlman (Hellboy) was in the film - that was cool!! Except he had a weird connection with some 12 year old in the film. Sometimes it was cute and then sometimes it was just wrong lol.

I had Kim with me for 3 weeks and then Kat stayed with me for a week after Kim went home. That means a whole month of sisters which was really cool! Oh and I won 2 free tickets to see Away We Go at a private screening. It was really cool to see it before it came to theaters! It was such a heart warming movie, with an amazing soundtrack. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh your ass off and afterwards you’ll feel just….warm and mushy inside!! Kat and I were so in awe and in good spirits. It had a quirky mood, kinda Junno-ish. The opening scene has Jim er I mean Burt under the covers going down on his girlfriend, making a statement that she “tastes” different downstairs, so she must be preggers! AND then she slaps him - cue title screen. Hilarious! Only problem is that another person who won tickets decided to bring her 8yr old daughter and was freaking out that there were so many curse words and sex jokes. Well lady, its 8pm and you bought your 8yr old as your plus one to a rated R movie? DUMB.

We also watched Drag Me to Hell but you can read Kim’s review on that, all in all it sucked hard. Kim also watched Angels and Demons - I really want to see it now and not just to feed my hot priest fetish. (Quills & Thorn birds really screwed up my image of priests). Don’t judge me.

Omg another post on the same day? So I’ve started to notice that when I wake up for work, Tomo wakes up too and follows me around until I leave. This morning I woke up extra early and I noticed Tomo was still asleep. So I tip toed around the apartment until I figure “hey he is only a cat, its my place” and walked into my kitchen with heels and woke him up. Then he slowly went back to sleep. It was the cutest thing ever! But yes, he tried to stay up and failed.

Damn did Ugly Betty’s finale suck!! Anyway, I finally was called to pick up my copy of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the 2 disc special was on sale for 12 bucks!! AMAZING movie. Even my dad loves it! He claims its the most romantic movie ever!

Speaking of movies I love the Grindhouse double feature. I love their fake trailers they added to give the full vintage effect. Rob Zombie’s trailer is probably the coolest. Not only is his wife in the trailer but the coolest horror whore - Bill Moseley (who was also in Repo!) was in it. I wish this would be made into a real movie!

I need to go watch Angels & Demons and Star Trek. Has anyone watched either? Are they worth it…are they good? I am so worried about the FAME remake -__-; And why are they still allowing the Rocky Horror remake? Richard O’Brien should sue MTV.

I hate the summer for a few reasons, in Houston that means gross sticky weather, my birthday and the dreaded dead tv! Season finales are always hyped up - different cliff hangers are presented but not usually unique.

Some popular themes include (not limited to):

• Death of a main or minor character
• Birth or pregnancy announced
• Wedding or announcement of engagement
• Start or end of a relationship
• A secret being out in the open
• Ending with a dyer life changing decision (which won’t be announced until the new season)
• Character moving away or being replaced

I’m sure there are dozens more but I am tired lol. After listing some common storylines it seems rather generic right? Some shows I will be missing during the summer :

BUT some of my favorite shows are coming back like Dexter and True Blood! But gah I’ll miss Lie to me!!! Tim Roth is a bad ass. Anyway off of tv talk - Yui came over to check out Baylor one last time! AND now that my sister Kim is out for her summer break I get to kidnap her mwahaha!

I am still working alot AND battling 2 freelance jobs XD; but in this time I won’t complain on having too much work. OH OH OH I saw RENT for the 5th (and final) time! I took my sisters and Emily to see the show. Why watch it again for the 5th time??? WELL original members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were on this last tour so you know it was worth an effort to try and get tickets! AND this is the last time RENT will tour! Well we got pretty good seats and I never thought I would ever get to hear Anthony or Adam’s voices live! AMAZING! Afterwards we were able get an autograph from Anthony Rapp, he is such a nice guy! Kinda still bummed Adam didn’t come out :/ Kim has video and pics from the autograph signing so when she posts them I’ll push you guys onto her blog.

I get to see my Korean brother this weekend. He goes to school in New York but they are in summer session now and he will be returning back to Korea to visit his blood family. Oh we’ll miss you Hyun!! My entries are getting weird and messy…

I just watched Natasha Richardson’s first film GOTHIC. I adore the dvr because I have channels like FearNET on demand. My all time favorite movie channel! This film is really poorly acted (all besides Richardson) was a bit cheesy. But she really did glow in the film - even when she was in the background she was stunning. Some parts of the film are so still the characters reflect a vintage oil paintings. The poster even showcases this style by copying The Nightmare by Johann Heinrich Füssli. Look here, can you see the similarities. This scene is acted out just like the poster dictates.

So strange, I remember my art history class when we talked about transferring text into art and even the symbolism of the sexual demon - the incubus. The film is supposed to be about how Mary Shelley came up with the idea of Frankenstein and Polidori’s The Vampyre. Film also foreshadows the death of Shelley’s first 2 children, the drowning of her husband and Polidori’s suicide. The movie had some orgy-like scenes which surprised me, some homo-erotic parts and lots of eerie masks, the music was so 80’s but for some reason I really liked it. Its a campy flick but overall I am glad to have finally watched it!! LOL I think they were all fucked up on drugs (some potion they drank), because they all imagined the weirdest things.

I’m sad United States of Tara is over. It was such a short season! OH and Being Erica, its really inspirational to see another person go through the hum drums of annoying office life. You guys should watch these!

Things To Do:

• This weekend is the Japanese festival! I have plans with family to attend.
• Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will be coming to Houston for a special showing of RENT. Hell yeah I want to meet them!
• Get tickets to Phantom of the Opera
• Finalize website I am doing for freelance
• Meet again with event client for my other freelance job
• Catch up with normal work projects
• Make a fucking new layout for MM!

I have no time for personal projects - kinda makes me stressed to even get online. Only reason I do is to update Shattered-Tranquility. Although I haven’t been in a real chatty mood. Just too tired ;-;

Work has been weird and tiring. Seems like no matter what I do around the office I would get weird vibes off of my boss and coworkers. I think this week was a bit more normal I guess, I have Monday off so yeah. But I picked up 2 new freelance jobs. Actually one of the jobs is like going to be a huge event so its alot of pressure lol. I’m nervous.

Addy went back to Japan so the staff and myself have to pick up the slack at Shattered-Tranquility. We actually get about 7- 8 posts per day so I think we are doing pretty well! I want to redesign my sites ;-;!! But they have to be put on the back burner for a bit, which sucks because my layout out on MM has been up forever!!! I want a new lay ‘-’!!!!
Have you heard about my bunny story? I made my first youtube vlog thing about it over here. Its totally not going to be a common thing to do videos O_o; Here is the bunny - I almost stepped on him.

My dad also got to hang out with a donkey on Thursday! I decided I really wanted to have a donkey - they are so cute!

Did you hear about Shamwow dude getting in trouble for beating a hooker? So fucking weird! GOD David Bowie has the hottest mug shot ever!! He is like 62-63? I don’t care I would still do him!!

Oh on a movie note - I saw Haunting in Connecticut. It wasn’t sooo bad until the ending -___-; I don’t like when “scary” movies try to be inspirational and cheesy in the end. Not sure why Matt got his brother and cousin out while the youngest cousin went upstairs and no one made sure she was safe? -___- I hate badly edits in films. The next shot you see her outside but you never see her being pushed to safety. Sorry kinda ruins the movie when I notice things like that. Oh I never saw the tv show about this story. Does anyone have any stories to share? Do you believe in ghosts? :o *curious*

Tomo will be turning 2 next week! His birthday is a day before Tomozo (owner of Sequence Records label). Weirdly his birthday is March 15th and my cat Tomo’s is March 14th. Totally never thought about it until now… Anyway here he is. Huge right?

Anyway, watched Watchmen this weekend with those chicks…who kinda look like me but don’t really. LOL but yes despite all the swinging blue wang and abundance of booty…it was great! I loved it and I want to see it again! Seriously not your typical “super hero” story. Alot of people left the theater because violence and wang. But come on….who takes kids to a rated R movie??? I also watched Taken. It wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be. Actually I liked it!

Next weekend, Kim and Kat will stay with me for their spring break. Ah, I miss the idea of having a spring break ;—; AND omg this is how it works??? Omg no no no thats scary!!! I miss Conan ;-;

Oh I need to redo MM soon! I have an idea for the design but I just don’t know yet….
